Hi Vicki, no it’s not 100% necessary to add protein powder. It just makes the jar higher in protein. If you don’t want, you can skip it and the recipe will still taste good

Do you have to use whey powder if not can you leave it out totally or is there a substitution ??

Hi Debra, you don’t have to use whey protein powder only. You can replace it with plant-based protein, collagen powder, or just skip it. If you leave it out, the cheesecake jar will still work fine, only the protein amount will be less.
